The DC festival will take place at numerous locations in and around the District of Columbia, including the famed Kennedy Center, the E Street Theater, the AMC Georgetown and the Arlington Drafthouse and Cinema. In 2006, AFR Hollywood, held at the Mann's Chinese 6 in the heart of historic Hollywood, featured a wide range of narratives, documentaries and short films. Highlights included The World's Fastest Indian, starring Anthony Hopkins, Mother of Mine, Finland's entry to the Academy Awards, The Bituminous Coal Queens of Pennsylvania, produced by Patricia Heaton, and scenes from the late Theo Van Gogh's controversial short film, Submission.
Attendees included several renowned stars and filmmakers, including Gary Sinise, Patricia Heaton, Tony Shalhoub, Bob Gale and Lionel Chetwynd.

If you're not sure whether your film meets our criteria, submit it anyway. AFR is not wedded to any single philosophy. We relish the opportunity to screen films with a variety of viewpoints. Our principal criterion is quality.
